Thomas Morizio, the new President and Chief Operating Officer of ACIST Medical Systems

Bracco announces that it has appointed Thomas Morizio as the new President and Chief Operating Officer of ACIST Medical Systems , Inc., a leading provider of contrast delivery systems for cardiology and radiology imaging and part of the Bracco Group. Morizio, formerly Vice President of Marketing for the Kyphon Division at Medtronic, began last week leading the global efforts of the Minnesota based company.

Morizio brings over 24 years of extensive experience in business development, market development, technical and product development, international marketing, strategy and portfolio planning from his prior roles at Medtronic and Baxter Healthcare Corporations.

ACIST , the medical device arm of the Bracco Group, will benefit from Tom’s vast experience and leadership in the cardiovascular arena,” said Fulvio Renoldi Bracco, Head of the Global Business Unit Imaging for Bracco, and CEO of ACIST . “We are confident that Tom’s leadership skills and experience will successfully guide ACIST as we continue to innovate and grow in our current and emerging markets.”

Morizio holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
