AMICAS Delivers Advanced Integration Framework to Monroe Clinic
| Company News - AMICAS, Inc. |
Joint development effort provides an excellent end-user experience and streamlined workflow
AMICAS, Inc. , a leader in radiology and medical image and information management solutions, announced that Monroe Clinic of Monroe, WI, is the first customer to benefit from a standards-based framework that allows Verona, WI-based Epic Systems Corporation's Radiant RIS to tightly integrate with AMICAS PACS.
Monroe Clinic is a not-for-profit health system that includes a multi-specialty clinic and hospital with more than 80 providers, a 24-hour emergency room, home care and hospice services, and 10 clinics in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The Radiant RIS-AMICAS PACS solution will also be featured at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center of Boston and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
"We have great confidence in Epic and their IT solutions," said Carrie Blum, director of information technology at Monroe Clinic. "The work AMICAS is doing is impressive. We evaluated many vendors before selecting AMICAS -- and their close working relationship with Epic was a critical factor in our decision. We are now live with a tightly integrated RIS-PACS solution and our radiologists and staffs are very pleased with the integrated systems."
AMICAS, Inc. and Epic product development teams are collaborating to create an architecture that tightly integrates RIS and PACS. This collaboration includes a multi-year roadmap to support a series of advanced functions -- such as support for peer review workflows and auto-launching of specific activities in shared workflows.
"We are very pleased with the strong results that have already been realized by our joint customers, such as Monroe Clinic," said Barry Gutwillig, vice president of strategic initiatives and partnerships at AMICAS. "Our work integrating access to clinical information at the time of diagnosis provides radiologists and clinicians with substantial workflow efficiency and the best possible care for patients. We are excited to continue our development work and to showcase this work for our mutual customers and prospects."
