Hospital of Central Connecticut partners with AMICAS

The Hospital of Central Connecticut Chooses AMICAS to achieve integrated reading, productivity,and critical results management goals.
AMICAS, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMCS), a leader in image and information management solutions announced a new contract with The Hospital of Central Connecticut (New Britain), which will enable the hospital to achieve its reading, productivity, and critical results management goals. Under the terms of the agreement, the hospital will utilize new, web-based technology for integrated reading, productivity, and critical results management initiatives. Included in the agreement are AMICAS PACS(TM), AMICAS Reach(TM), and AMICAS RadStream(TM) solutions.
As a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery and a wide variety of specialties. Comprised of the 330-bed general campus in New Britain, the 84-bed Bradley Memorial campus in Southington, and six outpatient imaging satellites serving several hundred physicians throughout central Connecticut, The Hospital of Central Connecticut performs 200,000 radiology procedures per year.
"AMICAS will help us to 'close the loop' on several important workflow challenges," said Ted Lombardo, director of radiology at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. "In addition, AMICAS Reach will allow us to provide proactive delivery of radiology reports and images to physicians who do not have access to our hospital network - and this will allow us to offer our services to physicians outside our typical service area", he added.
