Orbital Therapy adds installations of ClearVue Prone Breast Platform
| Medical Conferences News - ASTRO 2011 |
Orbital Therapy has expanded their user base of the ClearVueTM, prone breast platform.
Recent installations include Karmanos Cancer Center at the Gershenson Radiation Oncology Center in Detroit, Michigan, Washington Hospital in Freemont, California and The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, Connecticut.
Orbital Therapy will be showcasing their products at the upcoming ASTRO (American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology) 2011 in Miami, as well as at the Prone Breast Radiotherapy Course: The NYU Technique in New York City. ClearVueTM offers many advantages over other commercially available prone position tables. The patent-pending, all carbon-fiber open design provides superior patient comfort, visual and treatment access to the breast and integrated laser alignment tool for precise and easy set-up, and compatibility with all CT scanners and linear accelerators on the market.
“Treating the patient in prone allows for better targeting of the treatment area. This technique reduces respiratory motion of the target (breast), and increases the separation between the target volume and critical organs such as heart and lung,” said Alan Sliski, CTO of Orbital Therapy.
