UMass Memorial Health Care selected the Accenx Exchange(TM) interoperability platform to rapidly establish a health information exchange with its community physicians.

Accenx (TM), a leading provider of health information exchange and interoperability solutions, announced that UMass Memorial Health Care, clinical partner of University of Massachusetts Medical School and the largest healthcare system in Central and Western Massachusetts, has selected the Accenx Exchange(TM) interoperability platform to rapidly establish a health information exchange with its community physicians.

UMass Memorial was recently recognized by Information Week as among the most innovative healthcare organizations in the country, and is committed to achieving the benefits of improved quality, enhanced patient safety, and greater efficiency inherent from realizing the vision of connected healthcare. UMass Memorial services cover the complete health care continuum, with UMass Memorial Medical Center, its academic medical center, member and affiliated community hospitals, freestanding primary care practices, ambulatory outpatient clinics, home health agencies, hospice programs, a rehabilitation group and mental heath services.

Accenx Exchange is a wide-area integration platform for creating health information exchanges delivered over the internet as a set of secure, interoperability services. Utilizing a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, Accenx Exchange will enable UMass Memorial to deliver clinical results directly to the physician practices EMR, as well as receiving orders directly from the physician.
