Acuo Technologies announced contract for Vendor Neutral Archive with Medical Imaging Consultants to enabling a foundation for image sharing networks.

Acuo Technologies, developers of the market leading high-performance software for intelligent medical image management, data migration tools and services, announced contracting with Medical Imaging Consultants ( MIC ) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for a new Vendor Neutral Archive ( VNA ), enabling a foundation for image sharing across the MIC network of clinics and affiliates. The integrated archiving solution is based on the Acuo Technologies DICOM Services Grid software. The Acuo VNA archives medical images from multiple sources across the Edmonton region, enabling cross application interoperability, improving access to critical medical imaging, and increasing system reliability, which results in lower total cost of ownership, quicker response time, and improved patient care. Acuo Technologies’ integrated medical imaging solution, the DICOM Services Grid, allows MIC to gain control of more than 40 terabytes of existing medical imaging data, as well as providing a flexible image management layer managing all future DICOM medical imaging content. The Acuo solution provides MIC a standards-based automated system with robust business continuity and eliminates the expense of multiple proprietary systems and storage platforms.
