The FREE Migration Archive License provides a fully DICOM compliant archive that stores migrated studies in a format that will never require customers to pay for the remigration of their data. When Acuo Technologies, LLC is contracted to perform the migration, there is no cost for the license of the vendor neutral Migration Archive to store migrated studies in a fully DICOM compliant format.

The Migration Archive can be upgraded to provide additional functionality for healthcare IT, including;

• Pre-PACS replacement Migration Archive enables facilities to accelerate the transfer to the newly purchased PACS by moving legacy studies to the Migration Archive months before installing the new PACS. This strategy eliminates the need to delay using the new PACS while trying to migrate data from the old PACS. The early migration allows quicker use of the new PACS and shutdown of the old PACS, saving money and time.

• PACS replacement risk management. IT projects are not always successful, but it can be even more painful to change vendors when the project sours. This difficulty is due to the time and cost of migration that is required to install the new PACS, and the realization that it would need to be redone in order to switch to another PACS. By implementing the low cost Migration Archive, a Hospital is able to hedge their risk of moving to a new PACS by allowing the rapid transfer to a new PACS in case the first PACS did not meet their needs.

• The Migration Archive can be upgraded to a Disaster Recovery Archive for use not only as a secondary source of the legacy images, but as DICOM compliant archive for new studies. By retaining both sets of images, the need to pay for future migrations is eliminated.

• The Migration Archive can also be the foundation for all “Ologies” as either a Disaster Recovery Archive or as a primary Vendor Neutral Archive for Cardiology, Vascular, and all image producing departments.
