( RSNA-2010 Booth #8336) Agfa HealthCare , a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions, announces that it will introduce its DX-D 100 ( FDA pending) to the North American market at RSNA-2010 . This fully-motorized, heavy-duty mobile DR solution complements Agfa HealthCare 's range of direct radiography ( DR ) solutions. DX-D 100 will be showcased at RSNA-2010 next to the DX-D 500n, Agfa HealthCare 's ceiling-suspended DR solution, and the DX-D 400, its new floor-standing DR solution ( FDA pending).

Fast and efficient, for greater patient comfort

In Intensive Care Units (ICUs), emergency rooms and operating rooms, bedside examinations are an important part of the care process. Agfa HealthCare 's

DX-D 100 is a mobile digital X-ray unit with a small width that is easily moved and operated by a single person, enabling an improvement in the quality and efficiency of bedside imaging. Handling a broad range of general radiography X-ray studies, DX-D 100 delivers almost real-time previews and very fast cycle times, combined with improved patient comfort. With up to 4000 images stored on DX-D 100 at any time, comparison with prior images is quick and convenient.

Mobile, flexible and heavy-duty DR solution

Agfa HealthCare 's DX-D 100 is a heavy-duty yet mobile DR solution, which can handle the toughest workflows. It can be used with several DR detectors, delivering instant previews and leading-edge resolution.

DX-D 100 is operated from a 15 inch touch screen and has excellent battery autonomy to handle heavy workloads when needed. The motor and generator batteries can be charged even while the unit is being used, eliminating any downtime during the battery charging process.

DX-D 100 makes use of the established NX platform for very fast acquisition and is supported by MUSICA2, Agfa HealthCare 's gold-standard image processing software for excellent contrast detail and excellent image quality. MUSICA2 has been specially tuned to further enhance the DR image quality.

In addition, the solution offers seamless connectivity with radiology information systems ( RIS ) and picture archiving and communication systems ( PACS ). Images can be sent directly to the PACS and/or imager, in DICOM format, using either a WiFi connection or wired network capabilities.

Combination of technologies for productivity benefits and superior image quality

"When we first looked at the development of our DX-D 100 mobile X-ray unit, a key requirement was that it must meet our high standards in terms of delivering productivity and workflow improvement benefits, combined with very high image quality," states Dirk Debusscher, Vice President Imaging at Agfa HealthCare. "This was achieved through the combined benefits of our NX workstation, our advanced DR needle technology and our MUSICA2 image enhancement solution. The resulting higher image quality means potential dose reduction for patients. We are confident that the DX-D 100 answers the need for constant enhancement of patient care and performance of medical imaging."
