Agfa Launches DX-G CR System at RSNA

Company News - Agfa HealthCare

RSNA 2009 exhibit showcases “next step in Computed Radiography (CR)” and innovative digital image capture solutions. Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions,  announced the global launch of the DX-G, a next generation CR system with extraordinary flexibility for general radiography at their RSNA booth. The DX-G offers exceptional image quality, the potential to reduce patients' x-ray doses, and streamlined workflow through a drop-and-go buffer for a broad range of applications."Offering the best in flexible, next-generation CR systems, the DX-G uses both needle-based detector and powder phosphor plates," said Iskandar Accaoui, Global Imaging Business Unit Manager.

The DX-G excels at delivering benefits in image quality, workflow, multi-functionality, and compact design. DX-G uses a five-cassette drop-and-go buffer, which contributes to its high imaging quality, high throughput, and smooth workflow. Multi-functionality is evident in the DX-G's support of all CR general radiology applications, including Full Leg Full Spine.

DX-G Image Quality: Supporting general radiology, including extremities, neonatal and pediatric applications, the DX-G offers excellent image quality by scanning both powder plates and needle detectors. DX-G with
standard phosphor plates offers excellent image quality, while the DX-G using needle-based detectors provides high quality images with higher Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE) and the potential to reduce patients' x-raydosages.

DX-G Workflow Enhancement: workflow is facilitated by the only true drop & go digitizer with five-cassette input and output buffer, which can handle a mix of needle-based detectors and/or standard phosphor plates of
varied sizes. The result is a fast preview, reduction in waiting times, more continuous workflow, and higher
productivity through automatic cassette handling."DX-G reflects the strength and power of Agfa HealthCare's product portfolio, which matches CR versatility with Direct Radiography (DR) productivity," said Accaoui.
