Agfa Healthcare Duke of Kent opens new imaging department

Duke of Kent opens new imaging department

Company News - Agfa HealthCare
His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent received a briefing on the versatility of the newly installed Agfa HealthCare IMPAX RIS and PACS solutions from Dr Julian Hague, consultant radiologist, at the King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes, London, UK, during the Royal Opening of the hospital's new imaging department. In addition to the fully integrated PACS/RIS, the hospital has also "gone live" with two CR 35-X Digitizers plus NX workstations and is already benefiting from its Agfa HealthCare "Mediweb" solution.

This allows consultants on the wards and in consulting rooms to place an order electronically for all imaging procedures and is the first Agfa "ordercomms" system in operation in the UK.

Overall the Intelligent IT and Computed Radiography solutions support the hospital's reputation of offering the highest standards of medical excellence and most modern equipment and facilities.

Commenting on the new arrangements during the Royal Opening, Dr Paul Butler, director of imaging at the hospital, said: "The department is well placed to offer a bespoke service both to our consultants and to referring general practitioners, together with their patients."
