iMedica Participates in American College of Physicians' EHR Partners Program
| Company News - Aprima Medical Software, Inc |
iMedica Corporation, announced their participation in the American College of Physicians' (ACP) Electronic Health Record (EHR) Partners Program (EPP).
Designed to assist physicians in choosing the best EHR for their practice, EPP participants must also meet stringent CCHIT certification standards. The EPP provides detailed information to ACP members who are interested in choosing an EHR.
iMedica's Patient Relationship Manager(TM) (PRM 2009) and Transition(TM) EHR (Electronic Health Record) can help physicians, especially in small- to medium-sized practices, make the switch from paper to electronic records with minimal financial strain.
"The ACP affiliation is core to our business because it represents a very significant population of physicians, including our Chief Medical Officer (Dr. Jeffrey Hyman)," said Michael Nissenbaum, President and CEO of iMedica. "We want to be especially attuned to their needs and work hard to make sure our software addresses the challenges they face."
"ACP's EHR Partners Program was created to help our members and their practice teams find the best CCHIT-certified EHR system suited for their practice. Selecting the right EHR can be challenging because there are so many vendors out there," said ACP's Michael S. Barr, MD, MBA, vice president, practice advocacy and improvement. "Physicians can use the EPP Comparison Tool to identify those EHR systems from among our EHR Partners that meet certain criteria. Then, based on the extensive information provided, they can narrow their choices to the two to three EHR Systems that they want to evaluate further. We are very pleased that iMedica is among the participating EHR vendors."
iMedica's involvement with ACP also expands on its effort to help physicians align themselves with ARRA guidelines stipulating the integration of an EHR system into all practices by 2016.
