French Pavilion Participates at Arab Health 2010

Medical Conferences News - Arab Health Congress 2010

Highly represented French Pavilion is participating at Arab Health Congress 2010 on January 25 - 28, 2010 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The French pavilion features two main characteristics: a growing number of exhibitors and increased surface; this demonstrates the interest shown by the French medical equipment and laboratories industry for the Middle East.

Arab Health Congress 2010 now boasts 2nd place in French pavilions abroad, right after Medica in Germany. Widely acknowledged for the quality of the equipment it produces, France will be relying on the diversity in its participants to show the multiple facets of its know-how.

There will be 108 exhibitors (92 for Arab Health Congress 2010 and 16 for Medlab) sharing roughly 1,200 sq. m. in surface area, respectively representing a progression of 12%. In 2009, France ranks 6th in terms of participating countries. The country boasts some 300 manufacturers of medical equipment and devices, 85% of which are SMIs with a workforce of about fifty. Those companies are increasingly tending to develop high-tech "niche" products in partnership with French medico-surgical teams. France is holding on to its 7th rank in export worldwide.

Orthopaedics is the leading French speciality: bone surgery implants, silicone, titanium or polylactide (Arex) implants, hand surgery, prostheses, digestive surgery (M.I.D/gastric banding), resorbable surgery. There will also be a strong contingent of ancillary equipment manufacturers.

Coming next, in order of decreasing importance, Arab Health Congress 2010 will host the following: biopsy instrument diagnostics, hospital supplies (the fight against nosocomial infection - Hutchinson/G VIR triple-structure surgical gloves to prevent virus transmission, sterilisation - Stérichem/ethylene oxide sterilisers, hospital waste treatment - ECODAS/shredding and sterilisation system), electro-medicine (including among others Supersonic Imagine and its new-generation Aixplorer ultrasound device, Ella Legros and its Num'x digital negatoscope) and intensive care (Mediprema's incubator range, Rifair and its high-purity oxygen generator).
