Molecular Imaging & Nuclear Medicine: Arab Health
| Medical Conferences News - Arab Health Congress 2010 |
4th Middle East Molecular Imaging & Nuclear Medicine Conference during Arab Health Congress 2010 will be held on January 28, 2010 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Oncology will be marking the agenda of the Molecular Imaging & Nuclear Medicine Conference for 2010. One key area for cancer management is metabolic imaging, the backbone of MI&NM. FDG - PET has been widely used for this clinical application already.
The 2010 Molecular Imaging & Nuclear Medicine conference will bring attendees up to date on cutting edge knowledge in MI&NM through listening to highly respected international speakers. Diagnosis, staging, restaging and response to therapy monitoring will be the key issues involved in the discussion of cancers such as breast, lung and prostate.
Topics at the conference include:
- PET breast:
- - Effectiveness of novel breast cancer treatment
- - Molecular detection
- - Role of 18-F-FDG in diagnosis
- Radiation oncology/planning:
- - PET / CT beyond FDG
- - Advances in use of PET / CT in RT planning
- Paediatric oncology:
- - Paediatric radiation oncology
- - Treatment of paediatric tumours
- - Late effects of cancer therapies
- Nuclear medicine:
- - Latest advances in nuclear medicine
- - SPECT / CT : expanding on nuclear medicine diagnosis
- - Essentials in nuclear medicine
The conference enables to:
- Discuss the latest updates in MI&NM in the management of patients with cancers
- Explore the clinical aspects in the treatment of common paediatric tumors - including the use of targeted radiotherapies and late effects of cancer therapies
- Evaluate the potential of new imaging methods to detect disease early in its course and recognise when there is the potential for improved outcome
- Identify future challenges and directions in radiation oncology
- Discuss the underlying biochemical and physical properties of 18-F-FDG and its applications to patients with various pathologies, mainly cancer
- Debate the latest advances in nuclear medicine diagnosis
