Aspyra to demonstrate the latest release of AccessRAD RIS/PACS at the upcoming RSNA 2009

Aspyra , Inc. (AMEX: APY) announced plans to demonstrate the latest release of AccessRAD, their integrated RIS/PACS product at the upcoming RSNA 2009 Annual Meeting held at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL (November 29 – December 3, 2009), Booth 3021, South Building Hall A.

The latest release of Aspyra ’s AccessRAD RIS/PACS , version 6.5.0, includes performance improvement features for accessing and reading radiological images and new methods for creating, printing, and scanning of registration forms and modality questionnaires; an improved scheduling process, and more efficient method of rescheduling or canceling of patient exams. A key feature of AccessRAD RIS/PACS v6.5 also features the ability to create internal orders for studies sent from outside referring facilities diagnostic interpretation via DICOM transfer protocols. These orders are automatically are processed by the RIS, thereby optimizing workflow, as well as increasing revenue by preventing lost charges due to missing or incorrect orders. Reports created for these outside studies can have tailored report templates which retain the other facilities medical record and exam number. Once signed by the radiologist the reports then can be automatically sent back to the outside facility via fax or HL7 data transmission.

Bill Culton, Aspyra ’s Diagnostic Solutions Product Manager states, “Many of our customers are forming relationships with outside facilities to read studies for them. Our interoperability with other PACS system allows them receive DICOM studies and have our system automatically create internal orders from them giving them a efficient and labor-less outside study workflow. We will also be demonstrating our interoperability with RADAR a critical results management system.”

Aspyra ’s AccessRAD RIS/PACS (Radiology Information System / Picture Archive Communication System) is designed to meet the needs of acute care hospitals, enterprise-wide delivery networks, and medium to large imaging centers, with end-to-end solutions that automate processes at every point of patient and imaging encounter workflow.
