Medical imaging specialist Barco introduced MXRT-7300, designed to speed up 3D imaging and digital mammography applications

Barco has introduced a new graphics display controller, the MXRT-7300, specifically designed to speed up 3D imaging and digital mammography applications in today's radiology departments.
“The adoption of specialized clinical applications and 3D imaging by PACS viewers puts a high demand on workstation display controllers,” explains Albert Xthona, Product Manager at Barco Medical. “With the brand-new MXRT-7300 graphics processor, our customers will enjoy an immediate performance improvement when manipulating large datasets in mammography, as well as an acceleration of OpenGL and DirectX functions increasingly common in high-end PACS environments,” Xthona continues.
Fitted with 1GB of memory and an ultra-fast GPU, Barco's MXRT-7300 ensures smooth loading and ultra-fast processing of large datasets. The 10-bit display controller generates the complete grayscale data set with 1024 simultaneous levels of gray and over one billion colors. Besides the traditional DVI-I video outputs, the new MXRT-7300 can equally drive DisplayPort, making for a perfect DVI- DisplayPort transition board.
The MXRT-7300 is compatible with Windows operating systems, including Windows 7. Just like all Barco diagnostic display products, the MXRT-7300 display controller comes standard with a 5-year warranty. The new board is available as an option with the company's leading Coronis 5MP Mammo display system and is immediately available for commercial distribution.
