Barco has won a significant contract to supply high-grade PACS display systems to the 'Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo', the largest hospital in Brazil.

Medical imaging company Barco has won a significant contract to supply high-grade PACS display systems to the 'Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo', the largest hospital in Brazil. The new systems will be installed in the hospital's reporting rooms and will be deployed to replace the existing film-based radiology workflow. Delivery and installation will be carried out by Macsym Tecnologia Eletrônica, Ltda, Barco ’s local partner in Brazil.

The Nio systems allow us to keep the quality, accuracy and reliability of our reporting to the highest level."

The order for Barco 's Nio displays is part of a larger PACS project, including replacement of the hospital's old modalities with DICOM compliant devices, installation of a DICOM server and storage, and setup of new workstations for image visualization and diagnosis. Altogether, the hospital ordered 23 Nio Fusion four MP color systems with a resolution of four MegaPixel and seven Nio grayscale systems (dual-head) with a resolution of three MegaPixel. All workstations will be installed in the hospital's radiology institute.
