Barco , a market leader in diagnostic displays, announces that Spanish public company RED.ES has ordered a record number of its Coronis diagnostic display systems. The premium medical display systems will be used for the introduction and development of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems in hospitals across Spain. Barco 's partner in Spain, Telefonica Soluciones , is responsible for the delivery and installation. Deliveries for this project have for the greater part been completed. To support IT development, the Spanish Industry Ministry established RED.ES, a public company that helps and advises the local government authorities (Comunidades Autonomas) with their purchases of IT equipment. The contract consists of a record number of medical displays to help accelerate the country's on-going PACS program in the regions of Murcia, Cantabria, La Rioja, Galicia, Navarra and Castilla-Leon. RED.ES selected Barco 's partner Telefonica Soluciones S.A. to supply Barco 's Coronis product line and MediCal QAWeb software. "Diagnostic displays are extremely important in medical imaging," explains François Le Guen of Telefonica Soluciones. "It is useless to invest in a full Picture Archiving and Communication System ( PACS ) without the means to properly display the images. The order consists of a large number of high-quality Barco display systems, including the grayscale Coronis 5MP, 3MP and 2MP, and the Coronis Color 2MP . Deliveries include both single-head and dual-head configurations. All displays come with MediCal QAWeb , Barco 's secure, online tool for automated calibration and quality assurance. This intervention-free softcopy solution allows easy asset management from a remote location, resulting in a maximum uptime of the PACS workstations.
