Leading US hospital selects Barco's new clinical review displays
| Company News - Barco |
Barco has been selected by Stanford Hospital & Clinics, to supply fifty-eight of its recently-launched MDRC-2120 clinical review displays.
Medical imaging specialist Barco has been selected by Stanford Hospital & Clinics, part of Stanford University Medical Center, to supply fifty-eight of its recently-launched MDRC-2120 clinical review displays. Installation of the 2 MegaPixel displays is ongoing with forty currently deployed. Thanks to the new displays, referring physicians at Stanford – a top-ranked facility on 'America's Best Hospital' list - will be able to utilize this dependable and DICOM-compliant review solution throughout the enterprise.
Stanford's new out-patient facility has a strong focus on orthopedic surgery, sports medicine and imaging. These disciplines demand a multi-purpose display solution that can present color 3D reconstructions as well as high-fidelity grayscale images. In order to comply with the high standards of its radiology department, Stanford Hospital & Clinics decided to standardize on Barco's 2 MegaPixel display.
The Barco MDRC-2120 is a brand-new clinical review display featuring a 20-inch screen, 1600x1200 native resolution, backlight stabilization, rotating mount and a multi-lingual on-screen display. Equipped with professional LCD-technology and a built-in DICOM Look-Up Table, the MDRC presents medical images with more accurate grayscales, better contrast and a wider viewing angle than conventional computer monitors. Hence, the displays are a perfect match for the Stanford Hospital & Clinics' advanced network of PACS workstations.
Rick Kong, Director Radiology Informatics of Stanford Hospital & Clinics, commented on the installation: “The Barco MDRC-2120 has been very well received by our medical staff at Stanford Hospital & Clinics as well as our referring physicians. It has provided the consistency, value and quality we were looking for.”
