Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) has announced that Janet K. Baum, MD, is CHA's new director of breast imaging. Dr. Baum comes to CHA from the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, where she was the director of the division of breast imaging. Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) has announced that Janet K. She previously worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston as the director of breast imaging and co-director of its Breast Care Center.

During her thirty-year career, Dr. Baum has established a reputation as a leader in the field of breast imaging and breast health. She is a fellow of both the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging and is currently an associate professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School. She also has authored or co-authored nearly one hundred research reports, clinical communications, and editorials on breast health and cancer care.

Dr. Baum will work closely with oncologists and surgeons in the Cambridge Breast Center and support various outreach initiatives. CHA now offers digital mammography service at each of its three hospital campuses: The Cambridge Hospital, Somerville Hospital, and Whidden Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Baum earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan, where she also completed her residency training.

Cambridge Health Alliance is a regional healthcare system with three hospitals and more than 20 primary care practices in Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston's metro-North communities.
