Breast cancer survivors can learn about nutrition, diet, and cancer during an upcoming class at the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center.

'Eating to WIN: Exploring the role of nutrition in women's health' will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in Room 102 of the Indiana Cancer Pavilion, 535 Barnhill Drive.

This class will explore healthy eating, low-fat diets, and guidelines for activity. Topics will include the Women's Intervention Nutrition Study (WINS), which suggests that reduced levels of fat intake may decrease the risk of breast cancer recurrence.

The class - which is free and open to the public and led by Anna Zufall, a registered dietitian - is offered through the IU Simon Cancer Center's CompleteLife program, which provides support and services for cancer patients and their families from diagnosis and treatment into survivorship.

For those interested in more information, they can call Zufall at 317-278-8308.
