Tampa Cardiologist to Use ExpressMD Telehealth Monitoring
| Specialties - Cardiology |
Dr. Benedict Maniscalco, a Tampa cardiologist, will use Electronic House Call, a telehealth monitoring solution, in his cardiology practice
Electronic House Call allows physicians to remotely monitor patients’ vital signs, according to a release from ExpressMD Solutions, the provider of the monitoring system. Remote monitoring helps cut the cost of patient care while allowing health care providers to improve their patients’ medical outcomes, the release said.
The local program will begin with congestive heart failure patients at Maniscalco’s Tampa practice. Maniscalco expects to expand the initiative to multiple cardiovascular specialty centers throughout Florida, the release said.
Maniscalco, who has specialized in cardiovascular diseases since 1976, also is chairman of Heartbeat International, a philanthropic organization providing permanent pacemakers and other cardiac devices to the indigent population of the world.
