Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Carestream Health with the 2009 Latin American Computed Radiology Customer Value Leadership Award
Frost & Sullivan named Carestream Health, Inc., as the recipient of its 2009 Customer Value Leadership Award in the Latin American computed radiology market. The company has deployed an effective strategy to continuously add value to new and existing healthcare providers, positioning it as a leader in the medical imaging market.
The specific criteria used in determining the recipient of this award includes: expansion of customer base; providing value added services to provide a better return on investment; better product life cycle cost benefits for customers; and technological innovation and leadership to address critical customer needs.
"Carestream Health has a broad portfolio that includes computed and digital radiography systems, as well as healthcare IT solutions such as picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), radiology information systems (RIS) and molecular imaging systems," explained Luisa Woge, Research Analyst with Frost & Sullivan Healthcare Group.
After becoming an independent company within the Onex Corporation group in 2007, Carestream Health put a stronger emphasis on digital medical imaging and IT solutions, launched 25 new products in its first year.
Due to increasing efforts to enlarge its installed base and penetration in the region, Latin America represents the second largest market for the company. Still, Carestream Health's strategy is not just about selling products, but to offer an integrated solution of radiography systems and software to enhance hospitals' workflow, and address critical customer needs.
The Center of Excellence program, a partnership with more than 20 hospitals around the world, allows the company to showcase its latest solutions at key medical institutions and share best practices with other institutions. In Latin America, two institutions joined the program: the Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital (Brazil) and the American-British-Cowdry Hospital (Mexico). Both hospitals have implemented Carestream Health's digital imaging and IT solutions such as RIS/PACS, Information Management Solutions (IMS) and computed radiography systems. "From a quantitative point of view, the Center of Excellence was one of the strategies that enabled Carestream Health to increase sales in Mexico," said Woge.
Carestream Health is committed to boost customer value in the Latin American region. The "Get Real Tour" was launched in Mexico City and Sao Paulo in 2006, and in the following years this event was also held in Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. These workshops enabled customers, distributors and partners to participate and discuss the latest medical imaging advances while highlighting the latest digital workflow from Carestream Health.
Moreover, Carestream Health has already launched the Customer Experience Initiative in 2009. Throughout direct surveys, Carestream evaluates the customers' process of focusing its technology and the post-sales support customers receive. This plan aims to assess the whole business cycle and complements the company's mission to exceed customers' expectations.
For all of these pioneering measures to enhance client value, Frost & Sullivan is proud to award Carestream Health the 2009 Customer Value Leadership Award in the Latin American computed radiology market.
