VA Heart of Texas Chooses CliniComp’s Essentris Critical Care Solution

Company News - CliniComp, Intl.

Agreement Expands Long-Term Partnership between CliniComp and VA Heart of Texas to Standardize Critical Care Processes Enterprise-Wide for Its 1 Million Veterans Served

CliniComp Intl., a global provider of clinical documentation systems, announced that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) chose CliniComp’s Essentris Critical Care solution for VA Heart of Texas Health Care Network. The agreement represents an expansion of the long-term collaboration between CliniComp and VA Heart of Texas, which is standardizing critical care processes and documentation across its enterprise, which includes three health systems that provide care to 1 million veterans in Texas.

Capitalizing on its success using Essentris at two of its facilities — Dallas VA Medical Center and Olin E. Teague Medical Center in Temple — VA Heart of Texas, which is one of the VA’s 21 Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs), will implement the solution at its medical center in San Antonio in the spring of 2010.

The contract is the third CliniComp has received from the military and the VA within the past two months. In addition to VISN 17, CliniComp was selected recently as the critical care documentation provider for VA Rocky Mountain Network (VISN 19). Moreover, the U.S. Department of Defense named CliniComp in September 2009 as the inpatient clinical documentation provider for all military treatment facilities.
