CoActiv Medical announed new distribution agreement with XRI

CoActiv , the leading digital image management company, announces a partnership with XRI, the specialized medical equipment sales and service organization, for the distribution of the complete CoActiv product line, including the EXAM-PACS family of web-based PACS solutions for every imaging modality and medical specialty, its three EXAM-RIS offerings and its vendor-neutral, EXAM-VAULT QUAD-REDUNDANT ARCHIVING services.

The new agreement is part of CoActiv’s dramatic expansion plans, following its most successful year ever in 2009 with sales more than double that of the previous year.

“We selected XRI following careful review of vendors in this geographic area because of its reputation for a high level of knowledge about medical imaging digital technology as well as commitment to service and support,” said Ed Heere, president and CEO of CoActiv. “XRI represents one of a growing list of resellers and distributors that CoActiv has recently partnered with to cater to the growing need in today’s marketplace for a cost-effective, advanced, feature-rich PACS. In addition, we have significantly expanded our sales force during the past year.”

Under the new agreement, XRI will be responsible for sales, service and support for CoActiv products throughout the New England region, complementing CoActiv’s own in-house sales force. XRI ’s existing regional customer base includes hospitals, radiology centers, orthopedic facilities, cardiology departments, urgent care centers, chiropractic offices, veterinary facilities and more.

In the forefront of technological innovation, CoActiv has long supported imaging across the enterprise with specialized applications for imaging beyond radiology as well as web based functionality beyond the enterprise. It broke new ground with its specialized functionalities, such as support for radiation therapy images and information and gamma breast imaging. Recently, CoActiv was the first PACS vendor to announce integration with the Apple iPhone and iPad for both its radiology and orthopedic applications. Additionally, it recently debuted a new feature that enables users to connect with the EXAM-PACS while flying using an iPhone across the airline’s WiFi connection.
