CoActiv Medical appointed David Cosgrove as PACS/RIS product manager for its EXAM-PACS product line and new family of EXAM-RIS applications

CoActiv Medical (Booth 7544), the enterprise image and data management specialist, has appointed David Cosgrove PACS/RIS product manager for its EXAM-PACS product line and new family of EXAM-RIS applications designed to meet a full range of marketplace needs. In his new position, Cosgrove initially will spearhead introduction of the new EXAM-RIS solutions, which include EXAM-RIS Essentials for single imaging sites, EXAM-RIS Enterprise for large imaging centers and EXAM-TELRIS with special features for teleradiologists. Going forward, Cosgrove also will head up continued product development and refinement, documentation, training, competitive intelligence and global marketing and sales for the multi-faceted PACS and RIS line.

“CoActiv Medical is a unique type of software vendor. I was excited to come here because of the focus they wanted to place on embracing the clinical aspect of their products. In 20 years in the industry, I have never experienced that type of initiative,” says Cosgrove.

“We are delighted to have Dave on our team. Because we are experiencing such rapid growth, we needed a true professional who could jump into the position with a minimal learning curve. Dave has a one-of-a-kind background and has done just that, already helping us to bring our new RIS portfolio to the market flawlessly,” comments Ed Heere, President and CEO of CoActiv Medical .

David Cosgrove brings to the position a broad-based leadership background in RIS/PACS management and computer systems design, implementation and support in a variety of settings. He also is a Licensed Radiologic Technologist with a wide expanse of experience in general radiography, computer tomography, mammography, sonography, and magnetic resonance imaging and special procedures.

Prior to joining CoActiv Medical , David Cosgrove was RIS/PACS manager for Putnam Hospital Center in Putnam, N.Y. In that position, he managed and maintained all radiology IT systems, including a CoActiv EXAM-PACS interfaced with a Siemens RIS. At Putnam, he also was responsible for managing the selection and installation of several major imaging modalities and IT systems.

“With his deep and diverse experience, Dave offered everything we wanted for our new PACS/RIS position,” comments Heere. “When Putnam Hospital underwent a major management reorganization and no longer required a radiology administrator at Dave’s level, the move to CoActiv was natural. Dave has already contributed significantly to the RIS products we are debuting at RSNA, and we look forward to a long and productive relationship with him.”

Prior to Joining Putnam Hospital, David Cosgrove was a Mobile Radiographer at Diagnostic Health Systems in Lakewood, N.J., where he served patients at multiple facilities, gaining a broad exposure to various paradigms of imaging workflow management.

During his career, David Cosgrove also has been a RIS Manager at Community General Hospital in Harris, N.Y. and also held a position as a specialized technologist with a focus on early IT initiatives at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. He began his career in electronic device maintenance in the U.S. Army and has also been an independent computer consultant. David Cosgrove resides with his wife and four children in Newburgh, N.Y.
