CardioGramKids(R) ECG Telemedicine Services Bring Pediatric Cardiologists to Pioneering Children's Primary Care Setting in San Bernardino County

CompuMed , Inc., a telemedicine and medical informatics company, has entered into an agreement with Kids Come First Community Clinic (KCF) to provide CompuMed's CardioGramKids(R) electrocardiogram (ECG) telemedicine technologies and services at KCF's school health center in Ontario, California.

KCF provides pediatric medical care to students at more than 40 elementary, middle and high schools throughout San Bernardino County, California. KCF also provides a comprehensive and innovative array of preventive health services and nutrition, physical activity and wellness education programs to students and their parents, and is one of the oldest and largest school health centers in California.

The CardioGramKids Pediatric Screening Program was designed in tandem with pediatricians and other healthcare providers nationally to provide ECG screening services to children and teenagers prior to taking psychotropic medications or participating in school or afterschool sports programs. CompuMed will provide CardioGramKids ECG equipment with over-reads performed remotely by CompuMed pediatric cardiologists.

"CompuMed is dedicated to improving the health of children throughout the country with our CardioGramKids program, allowing primary care settings to access pediatric cardiologists through our telemedicine-enabled ECG machines," said Maurizio Vecchione, CEO of CompuMed. "KCF is a pioneer in the delivery of preventive medicine to students in Southern California. We share the Clinic's preventive healthcare vision and see early cardiovascular screening as a critical step in determining cardiac risk factors in children who can then be treated and look forward to a healthier future."

"By utilizing CompuMed's ECG telemedicine technology, we can provide students and parents with diagnostic information that might prevent imminent or long-term cardiac problems," said KCF CEO Beverly Speak. "We are responsible and accountable for keeping abreast of developments in health care knowledge and technology, and where possible, incorporating these advances into our practice. CompuMed has made the application of ECG telemedicine into our practice both compelling and practical."
