Prima CARE, a multi-specialty medical group, has earned a three-year term of accreditation in computed tomography ( CT scan) from the American College of Radiology. Accreditation of the radiology facilities by Virginia-based ACR required a peer-review evaluation and achievement of high standards of practice. Board-certified physicians and medical physicists, who are experts in the field, conducted the evaluations, assessing the qualifications of personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment.

PrimaCARE's more than 50 primary care physicians and specialists serve patients at facilities in Fall River, Somerset and Tiverton as well as in homes, hospitals and nursing homes. In addition to CT scans, Prima CARE's CT capabilities enable its cardiology department to offer computerized tomography angiography, a service in the South Coast area previously offered only in hospitals.

The group also offers the only dual-accredited (nuclear and echocardiography) cardiac testing laboratory in Massachusetts, a non-invasive vascular lab accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICALV), a sleep study laboratory, and a vein and laser institute. In addition, the practice's medical services include MRIs, bone density screenings, digital mammography, complete x-ray services, pulmonary function testing, ultrasound and diagnostic laboratory services. Prima CARE also offers morning transportation services to patients who don't drive.
