24th Annual Economics of Diagnostic Imaging 2009: National Symposium

Medical Conferences News - Conference News

24th Annual Economics of Diagnostic Imaging 2009: National Symposium will be held on October 28 - November 1 at Arlington, Virginia.

A new administration, a difficult economy, and reimbursement pressures that are intensifying. How should radiology practices respond to these problems? This course is designed to explore these issues and present strategies for action so that groups can survive and hopefully thrive in these uncertain times. Faculty members will discuss reimbursement mechanisms and how the ACR is advocating on behalf of the specialty. The impact of the elections will be covered and actions in Washington that impact radiology will be addressed.

Legal issues and contract negations will be discussed by faculty members who have participated in these deliberations. Quality issues and pay for performance will be discussed so that attendees can decide how to implement these programs. The controversies surrounding productivity measures, self-referral, and commoditization will be explored. A discussion of utilization management and how it will be accomplished will be presented.

Emphasis will be placed on solutions to issues. Registrants will be provided with information that should enable them to implement change in a timely manner. The Economics of Diagnostic Imaging 2009: National Symposium is the definitive socio-economic meeting for radiology professionals. It is the main source of information for those who seek practical knowledge and strategies that can be immediately incorporated into their practices.
