Hospital Build Asia Exhibition and Congress 2009

Medical Conferences News - Conference News

Hospital Build Asia Exhibition and Congress 2009 revealed positive outlook for Asia’s healthcare businesses.

Hospital Build Asia is the first and only event in the region that is dedicated to helping the healthcare community build a sustainable and profitable hospital infrastructure and healthcare business. It was held at the Suntec International Exhibition and Convention Centre from April 1st to 3rd 2009. Organised by IIR Asia Pacific’s IIR Life Sciences Division, the three-day event saw over 3,120 visitors at the exhibitions and 1,002 delegates at the conferences.

The Inaugural event attracted over 3,000 key opinion leaders and decision makers, reflecting region’s demand for fresh business approach and strategic insights. "Hospital Build Asia 2009 was a success," said Andrew Keable, Divisional Director, Life Sciences Division, and IIR Asia Pacific. "Response to the event was outstanding as visitors and delegates had access to industry leaders who shared lessons learnt and exclusive information from market watchers—insights that were not easily available to them otherwise. They also had a chance to experience new technologies that would transform the future delivery of healthcare services. We will definitely up the ante by offering more content and value to the healthcare community in Hospital Build Asia 2010."

The feedbacks from the exhibitors were positive. "The highlight of Hospital Build Asia 2009 was the congress series, which provided a unique setting for delegates to discuss the region's healthcare needs and how technology could be used to deliver higher levels of care to patients efficiently and at minimal costs," said Colleen Smith, Head of Regional Marketing for Siemens Healthcare Sector, the lead exhibitor for the event.

For Draeger Medical Singapore, another exhibitor at the event, Hospital Build Asia 2009 was an excellent platform for the company to showcase its consulting services and leading-edge cross-departmental medical solutions to the healthcare community. "There was a lot of interest from the high-quality visitors in what we do at the show. We were glad to have the opportunity to reinforce our leading position in medical technology to hospital planners and decision makers from around the region," said Hans-Joachim Baltzer, Director, and Draeger Medical Singapore.

Feedback from the healthcare community was positive too. “I am here to learn more about hospital management and infrastructure planning. I felt that the Design, Plan & Upgrade Congress was very well planned and interesting,” said Zheng Tye Ling, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.

“The quality of speakers was excellent and the conference was very well organised. The topics presented were interesting and informative. And I got the chance to meet all major hospital suppliers under one roof,” said Dr. Raha Al-Ahmad I, a conference delegate from King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Saudi Arabia.
