TROG 2010 Annual Scientific Meeting

Medical Conferences News - Conference News

22nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) will be held on March 24 - 27, 2010 at Queenstown, New Zealand.

The TROG 2010 Annual Scientific Meeting is a unique opportunity for radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, medical physicists, statisticians, trial coordinators, and research nurses as well as other clinicians and related parties to collectively discuss and influence the direction of current and future cancer research through clinical trials.

The Annual Scientific Meeting provides a focal point for TROG member involvement, collaboration, formulation of scientific direction, review and reporting of research activity, as well as education and knowledge sharing. Over 200 delegates attend the four day program which is supported by industry representatives and features a dedicated trade display area for industry products and information.

The Annual Scientific Meeting has a key role within the structure and governance that TROG has put in place to support clinical trials involving radiotherapy. In a formal sense the meeting provides the process by which new clinical trial proposals are presented by TROG members for endorsement by the wider membership for further development. In addition, progress reports for ongoing clinical trials and results of completed trials are presented by Trial Chairs for review by the membership. The Annual General Meeting for TROG members is also held during the program.
