DR Systems, makers of the Unity RIS/PACS, has announced ten new contracts with healthcare facilities, totaling more than $5.6m.
DR Systems, makers of the Unity RIS/PACS, has announced ten new contracts with healthcare facilities, totaling more than $5.6m.
The prestigious KLAS rating service recently named DR Systems the 'PACS Category Leader' in its Top 20 Mid Year Report, topping all other PACS providers including Dynamic Imaging, McKesson, GE Medical Systems, Siemens, Philips, and Amicas. The company was also the PACS category leader in KLAS's mid-year report for 2006.
The ten new facilities with which DR has contracts are:
Summersville Memorial Hospital (Summersville, W.Va.)
Patients Medical Center (Pasadena, Tex.)
Jackson Park Hospital Foundation (Chicago, Ill.)
Bert Fish Medical Center (New Smyrna Beach, Fla.)
Michigan Resonanace Imaging (Rochester Hills, Mich.)
Marian Medical Center/Plaza Diagnostic Imaging (Santa Maria, Calif.)
Valley View Regional Hospital (Ada, Okla.)
Trousdale Medical Center (Hartsville, Tenn.)
Utah Valley Radiology (Provo, Utah)
Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (Arroyo Grande, Calif.)
The contracts were from a variety of institutions, from diagnostic imaging centers to a 326-bed hospital. The largest contract was for nearly $1m, with the smallest contract at about $222,000.
The range of new facilities and contract sizes reflect the scalable nature of DR Systems' RIS/PACS. The company's integrated solution provides healthcare institutions with next-generation technology and world-class service for their current and future medical imaging and information management needs.

Summersville Memorial Hospital has 53 acute beds and 52 extended care beds. The hospital plans to expand its emergency department, add a new intensive care facility, and build an extended care facility.

Jackson Park Hospital & Medical Center is a 326-bed acute, short-term comprehensive care facility that has been serving the south side of Chicago since 1913. It also provides medical education and training through its family medicine residency program and several affiliated medical schools.
Bert Fish Medical Center 112-bed, acute care medical center offers care to the population of Florida's Southeast Volusia County.
Michigan Resonanace Imaging provides diagnostic services in magnetic resonance imaging throughout southeastern Michigan.
Marian Medical Center/Plaza Diagnostic Imaging is part of the Catholic Healthcare West, a leading not-for-profit health care system. A 167-bed hospital, Marian Medical Center serves the Santa Maria, Calif., area. Plaza Diagnostic Imaging is a new outpatient facility associated with the hospital.
Valley View Regional Hospital is a not-for-profit, 170-bed acute care general hospital that serves ten counties in southeastern and south central Oklahoma.
Trousdale Medical Center is a private, non-profit 25-bed critical access hospital affiliated with Sumner Regional Health Systems, Inc.
Utah Valley Radiology offers sub-specialization in all areas of diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive surgery (interventional radiology). The facility provides services to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Orem Community Hospital, and American Fork Hospital, with additional coverage provided to hospitals and clinics in Price, Delta, Fillmore, Utah; Brigham Young University; and the Riverwood Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Center in Provo.
A 65-bed general, acute care, medical-surgical facility, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital serves residents in southern San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County. The hospital is affiliated with Catholic Healthcare West.
