The latest innovations to improve clinical workflow and enhance outcomes were showcased by Siemens at ECR.  The portfolio of Breast Care products and solutions were shown on the stand and in a special mobile trailer accessible to the public.  The new Acuson S2000 ultrasound, Ysio digital radiography system and range of syngo portals are also on view.

The new Acuson S2000 platform is the first ultrasound system of the new S product line. The technology integrated into the platform is intended to optimise workflow and simplify a physician's work. The system enables the implementation of innovative acoustic radiation forced impulse (ARFI) imaging and is prepared for integration of the latest silicon ultrasound technology, which is almost ready for the market.

Other solutions on show from the portfolio included:

MRI - The MAGNETOM Verio, the first MRI system to combine 3-Tesla technology with a 70 centimetres Open Bore plus Tim technology, and the MAGNETOM ESSENZA, a cost-effective, yet high quality MRI system is on display.

CT - The Somatom Definition AS (Adaptive Scanner) for single source CT adapts to virtually any patient and clinical need for comprehensive examination of a diverse range of patient groups, from children to the obese.

Angiography - The new Artis zeego angiography system provides unprecedented flexibility in catheter labs and operating rooms.  The industrial robot technology allows clinicians to move the C-arm to almost any position around the patient, making it easier to visualise internal organs from various sides.

Radiation therapy - The ARTISTE linear accelerator provides a variety of imaging modes and treatment protocols, offering all prerequisites for adaptive radiation therapy, focusing maximum radiation intensity on the tumour while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue.

Molecular Imaging - The high-resolution positron emission tomography for PET (HD/PET) and computed tomography systems (PET/CT) deliver sharper and clearer images to define small lesions more precisely.

Intraoperative imaging - The newest generation of Arcadis C-arm are suitable for broad clinical applications including orthopaedics, trauma, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, vascular and cardiac surgery and urology.

Customer Services - The dedicated customer care program, 'Life', offers a multitude of innovative proactive services that minimise equipment downtime and enable the detection of potential faults in medical systems before malfunctions occur.

Consulting - Siemens consulting teams assist service providers in successfully positioning themselves in the healthcare market through strategy, clinical and administrative process optimisation plus technology and infrastructure planning.
