Successful integration of LMS applications with RIS/PACS to be showcased at ECR 2008
| Radiology Conferences - ECR 2008 |
Clinical applications that are designed to be integrated with existing RIS or PACS workstations, to be showcased at leading congress.
MEDIAN LMS-Lung, LMS-Liver and LMS-Colon efficiently assist the radiologists in all steps from lesion detection, measurement and follow-up to report generation for the referring physicians. These clinical applications are designed to be integrated with existing RIS or PACS workstations. Such integration guarantees access to previous exams necessary to perform follow-up studies, brings additional clinical functionalities right to the radiologists' desktop wherever needed in the hospital and ensures an immediate transmission of the LMS reports to the oncologists and other referring physicians. Various hospitals such as the ELK Chest Hospital in Berlin already benefit from the integration of LMS applications with their RIS or PACS. "In order to have optimal benefit from advanced software tools like LMS applications, they have to be available right where and when we need them," explains Dr. Dag Wormanns, head of radiology of ELK Chest Hospital. "The integration of LMS with our GE Centricity RIS/PACS significantly alleviates reporting of oncological follow-up studies and is also very efficient for clinical demonstrations. Besides, clinicians in the whole hospital benefit from the availability on the PACS of LMS comprehensive reports which include accurate information on the lesion evolution and screenshots."
