Digital Mammography Self - Assessment Workshop at ECR 2010 (European Congress of Radiology) will take place from March 4 - 8, 2010 in Vienna, Austria.

The Workshop at ECR 2010 will be presented by Roland Holland, MD, PhD, National Expert from the Training Centre for Breast Cancer Screening, Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, the Netherlands and by Ulrich Bick, MD, Department of Radiology, CCM, Charite – Universitatsmedizin Berlin.

The workshop is designed for Radiologists, radiology residents, technologists, and other healthcare professionals who wish to acquaint and train themselves in digital mammography reading. On completion of the programme participants should be more familiar with screening, reading and manipulating digital mammography cases; they will have assessed their reading skills to detect cancers in their early stage and to maintain a good balance between recall rate and detection rate.

The workshop at ECR 2010 will give participants the opportunity for direct handson experience and they can register for up to seven one-hour sessions. Each session will start with an introduction that includes the learning objectives of the workshop, the method of reading and selfassessment and instruction on how to use the system. Each participant will have 45 minutes to read the cases, assess their own number of false positives and false negatives and then discuss the cases with Ulrich Bick MD Institut fur Radiologie Charite – Universitatsmedizin Berlin, Deutschland Roland Holland MD, PhD National Expert and Training Centre for Breast Cancer Screening Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, Netherlands the medical experts. Those taking part will be able to choose between a total of seven different modules, each one containing 30 selected screening mammography cases with a mix of biopsy proven positives and negatives. Each module is independent of the others; they do not need to be completed sequentially.
