Image Technology Laboratories announces that its ongoing innovation and participation in the EMR market. Recently, ITL successfully went live with its electronic linkage of images, data, and records.

Image Technology Laboratories, Inc. is pleased to announce its ongoing innovation and participation in the electronic medical records ( EMR ) market. Recently, ITL successfully went live with its electronic linkage of images, data, and records produced and stored in the company's RIS/PACS system by Park Avenue Associates in Radiology, P.C. at its Southern Tier Imaging MRI facility (STI) into Southern Tier HealthLink, a Health Information Exchange ( HIE ).

Southern Tier HealthLink facilitates the exchange of healthcare information among participating providers in the central New York region. By centralizing patient data such as contact information, demographics, medical histories, visits, clinical documents, diagnoses, procedures, medications, and radiology images, the continuity of care for patients is greatly improved while costs are safely reduced. STHL was funded by New York State (HEAL NY) to establish this partnership between healthcare consumers and providers.

"For some time now, patients who have undergone diagnostic imaging at STI were able to have these records accessed online by their ordering physicians via the ITL WebServer and WebViewer products installed at STI. With the successful completion of our interface to the Southern Tier HealthLink Web Portal, these same ordering physicians, along with any additional patient-approved providers, will not only be able to review the STI produced records, but also do so in the more complete context of accessing records produced by all other providers participating in the STHL. The standard of patient care will improve, while the overall costs associated with the care will decrease."

"This will allow for a streamlined method of record access to improve patient care, and a decrease in the costs associated with record keeping."

Along with the radiology images and reports from STI, Southern Tier HealthLink's exchange includes data and records from Our Lady of Lourdes, Wilson Memorial, Binghamton General, and Chenango Valley hospitals.
