National Billing's EMR Systems Benefit Doctors

National Billing is now offering electronic medical records systems incorporated into their billings services which, under President Obama's stimulus plan, can benefit doctors financially - and the sooner they implement it, the more money they will receive.
"There are so many benefits to EMR," says Michael Evans, owner of National Billing. "Doctors, patients and hospitals alike will all have better access to medical information, and it will drastically decrease problems that we now face, such as needless tests and adverse drug interactions."
Using EMR, physicians can better coordinate their patients' care, and patients who want access to their records, test results and prescription refills have an easier time getting them.
"One of the biggest plusses of EMR is that it will greatly reduce the duplication of services," Evans says. "Once you have the technology, your staff is trained and you have engaged your patients, you can begin to reap the rewards."
For doctors who are looking at the financial side of having an EMR, there are certainly advantages to having the system implemented. From 2011 to 2016, providers who accept Medicare can receive up to $44,000; for doctors who have more than 30 percent of their patients in the Medicaid program (20 percent for pediatricians), they can receive up to $64,000 starting in 2011.
The sooner the EMR program is put into place, the more money doctors will receive. For instance, if the program is implemented in 2011, Medicare providers will receive $18,000 toward the $44,000. Those who wait until 2014 will receive $15,000 the first year, with a total at the end of the term of $35,000.
The company was founded in 1995 by Evans, who has more than 20 years of experience in the medical insurance billing industry. Based in Florida, it offers medical billing services to doctors throughout the United States.
"And with this new stimulus plan from President Obama, now is a better time than ever to implement an EMR," Evans continues. "With the financial incentives available, there really is no reason not to use this service."
