Garden City Hospital implements Emergisoft CCHIT Certified 08 Emergency Department EHR to streamline clinical workflow in the emergency department
Emergisoft annouced that Garden City Hospital is one step closer to achieving 'meaningful use' with the implementation of Emergisoft's CCHIT Certified 08 Emergency Department EHR, designed to improve patient safety, decrease patient wait times, and to streamline clinical workflow in the emergency department (ED). Since going live with EmergisoftED in December 2004, Garden City has benefited from Emergisoft's emergency department software, a completely Web browser-based solution that automates each step of the patient management process in the ED. By implementing Emergisoft's CCHIT Certified 08 Emergency Department EHR, Garden City's clinicians will now utilize more innovative technology with significant emphasis on meaningful use.
CareTech Solutions, Garden City Hospital's IT partner, managed the upgrade in the ED and will continue to support and train the end users on Emergisoft's Emergency Department EHR. CareTech has provided IT management services for the hospital since 2001 and supports and maintains all IT functions for Garden City Hospital.
"The upgrade of the Emergisoft application has been a huge success at Garden City Hospital. The clinicians have embraced the enhancements which will maximize patient safety and increase productivity. We are looking forward to implementing the future phases of Emergisoft to automate the Emergency Department's workflow and continue to provide quality patient care," said Jennifer Heflin, Applications Manager at CareTech Solutions.
Garden City Hospital, located northwest of Detroit, is an independent, 323-bed community hospital with 365 physicians in 47 specialties, from emergency medicine to critical care, from radiology to sports medicine, and from oncology to obstetrics/gynecology.
"Kudos to Emergisoft and our own fine staff. The upgrade was smooth and successful. We found Emergisoft to be a great partner in implementation. Their people were here when we needed them and available any time by phone if we had a question. Most people here outside the ED did not even know we were going through a major upgrade. That's a good sign," said Art Greenlee, VP of Operations at Garden City Hospital.
"The success of the Garden City implementation of our CCHIT certified Emergency Department EHR emphasizes the quality of our product and commitment as a company to provide our clients with the ability to achieve meaningful use," said Jordan Davis, CEO of Emergisoft. "The features in our product are designed to enable clinicians to focus on providing safe and efficient health care."
