FUJIFILM Completes First DR Install At Dedicated Pediatric Facility
| Company News - FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, Inc. |
Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota to benefit from image quality and speed of FUJIFILM Medical Systems Dual Velocity SpeedSuite
FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA is pleased to announce that Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota has become the first dedicated pediatric facility to purchase and install the company’s FDR Dual Velocity SpeedSuite. With the high-speed image capture of the system, both the facility and its pediatric patients will benefit from outstanding image quality and shorter image exposure times.
“Fujifilm has always taken great pride in our image quality, and when it comes to the delicate nature of pediatric imaging we recognize it can play an even more significant role,” says Tom Briggs, FUJIFILM Medical SystemsMarketing Manager, Digital X-ray. “The Dual Velocity SpeedSuite will provide Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota with an ideal x-ray exam configuration that is perfectly suited for pediatric studies,” he continued.
A fully integrated digital room, the Dual Velocity SpeedSuite pairs Fujifilm’s high-speed table and upright systems with top-of-the-line x-ray equipment for a seamless, functionally-integrated digital room. Because of the tendency of young pediatric patients to move during imaging exams, the system’s high speed image capture technology results in shorter image exposure times, improving patient comfort and reducing the need for repeated exams. Other advantages of the Dual Velocity SpeedSuite include high throughput, intuitive controls, auto-collimation, and the ability to pre-set technique parameters for the specific pediatric studies a facility uses most frequently.
Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is the seventh-largest pediatric health care organization in the U.S. Fujifilm’s Dual Velocity SpeedSuite has been installed at Children’s of Minnesota’s recently opened Children’s Specialty Center –on their Minneapolis campus.
In 2008, Children’s of Minnesota completed nearly 120,000 radiological exams. The facility had more than 14,000 admissions, experienced more than 82,500 emergency room visits and had nearly 117,000 clinic visits. Children’s has 332 staffed beds at two hospital campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis.
In addition to the FDR Velocity Speed Suite, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics Minnesota currently uses FUJIFILM Medical Systems FCR products including the FCR 5000 multi-plate system, and the single-plate FCR Carbon and SmartCR readers.
