FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. is to announce that FUJINON became an integrated division of the diagnostic imaging and medical informatics company.

FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. is pleased to announce that beginning, January 1, 2012, FUJINON, a leading provider of endoscopy equipment, became an integrated division of the diagnostic imaging and medical informatics company. The addition of FUJINON will strengthen and diversify the overall medical product line while streamlining and improving business efficiencies. FUJINON had previously operated as a subsidiary of the medical systems company. This merger will result in a larger, stronger company that will aide in the development of an even greater variety of high quality diagnostic imaging systems.

Under the new structure, the FUJINON brand will remain in place and build upon the already expanding Fujifilm medical systems portfolio. FUJINON's advanced technologies include the first commercially available flexible video endoscope, the first high-resolution CCD Super Image flexible video endoscope, the first High Definition flexible endoscopes, and the only endoscopic system, Double Balloon Endoscopy®, capable of reaching the entire small bowel. The endoscopy division will be the latest addition to Fujifilm's line up to provide renowned image quality. Fujifilm's medical systems products include digital radiography solutions for nearly every conventional x-ray need including flat panel detectors, portable systems, room replacements and full field digital mammography and the Synapse line of medical informatics products.

As part of the merger, Mr. Keiichi Nagata will join FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc.'s Executive Leadership Team as the Division President of the company's Endoscopy Division. "By officially joining FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc., FUJINON will gain even greater access to the vast healthcare research and development resources of Fujifilm. This new relationship will also provide the ability for FUJINON to leverage the established hospital and clinically based network that FUJIFILM serves," says Nagata.
