FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, Inc. Receives FDA Clearance for FCR GO

Company News - FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, Inc.

FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, Inc. announced the FDA 510(k) clearance of its newest Fuji Computed Radiography (FCR) system, the FCR Go portable digital x-ray system.

This high performance system raises the bar for both quality and efficiency in portable digital x-ray. It assures that all imaging patients receive the highest quality care regardless of exam location, while giving technologists the tools to maximize efficiency remotely.

The FCR Go is the first portable digital x-ray system to provide remote users with all of the same functionality and sophisticated image processing features available at the fixed technologist workstation and FCR digital x-ray cassette reader in the imaging department. All of the image optimization and advanced image processing features of Fujifilm’s Flash IIP are accessible to the clinician right at the portable console so that comprehensive image adjustment can be performed remotely and images can be sent directly to PACS without additional intervention at another workstation.

“Since unveiling the FCR Go this past fall, we’ve had unprecedented interest from facilities of all sizes across the market,” said Rob Fabrizio, Fujifilm’s National Marketing Manager, Digital X-ray. “Technologists immediately recognize the quality design and innovation that only the FCR Go brings to portable imaging, and we expect to see renewed excitement in the portables market now that it is FDA cleared,” he continued.

The smart, functional design of the FCR Go provides advantages over all other available systems. There is no oversized or heavy detector and no tethered detector cord to interfere with patient positioning or comfort. The lightweight, durable FCR cassettes can be used in nearly any imaging environment, including the operating room, with images produced in as little as 23 seconds. And the sleek, compact design and intelligent motorized movement make FCR Go very easy to maneuver.

Because the FCR Go will accommodate wireless or hardwired connection to a facility’s network, the patient worklist is always available from the RIS/HIS and images can be transmitted to PACS immediately following study completion for quicker interpretation. The system also offers Fujifilm’s SpeedLink X-ray Control Software™ for a fully integrated interface between the portable x-ray generator and the built-in workstation which allows exposure techniques to be set automatically according to the specific exam type selected.
