Fujifilm Plans Corporate Changes in 2010

FUJIFILM Medical Systems has recognized a number of career milestones and is pleased to announce a number of positive changes and additions designed to facilitate future growth.
President and CEO, Hirokai Tada has announced his retirement from FUJIFILM Medical Systems . Tada who will retire in mid 2010, has been with FUJIFILM Corporation more than 36 years having worked for various Fujifilm subsidiaries in diverse capacities throughout Japan, Europe and North America. During his time at FUJIFILM Medical Systems , Mr. Tada was instrumental in maintaining a profitable business environment during a weak economic climate which had a significant impact on the healthcare market. Prior to joining FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA (FMSU), Mr. Tada was President and CEO of FUJIFILM Graphic Systems USA, Inc., where he was also successful in developing a strong, lucrative company in a shrinking marketplace. Mr. Tada’s dedication to FUJIFILM Corporation and his experience with a number of the company’s business segments are rivaled by few.
Tada’s successor will be Mr. Naohiro Fujitani. Formally General Manager of FUJIFILM Graphic Systems in Europe, Fujitani has been with FUJIFILM Corporation for the past 34 years and will bring a wealth of technical knowledge to FUJIFILM Medical Systems . Fujitani began his transition to FMSU on December 28, 2009. He will be officially named the company’s President and CEO in mid 2010.
Other changes to the Fujifilm corporate structure include the appointment of Robert Cooke as the Vice President and General Manager, Medical Informatics USA; Cooke will head all business and customer facing functions of the Fujifilm’s Medical Informatics division. Aaron Waitz, formerly President and CEO of ProSolv Cardiovascular, has assumed the role of Vice President, Product Development, Medical Informatics Global, will manage all aspects of product development for the integrated Medical Informatics portfolio.
Also, the company has added a new Vice President of Human Resources, Teresa A. Oakley. Oakley brings a wealth of knowledge within the healthcare arena and is the first HR executive to become a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Ms. Oakley is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources for the company’s US operations including Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Performance management, talent acquisition, recruitment, and succession planning.
In other news, FUJIFILM Medical Systems announces the departure of Executive Vice President, John Weber. Weber leaves Fujifilm after 24 years of committed service to the company. During his tenure with the company, Weber was the leading member of the executive committee that transformed Fujifilm from its position as a film distributor, to its current status as a leading digital imaging and medical informatics company.
