FiatLux Imaging and Philips FIMI, have announced plans to demonstrate at RSNA 2008 the benefits of 3D imaging at the point-of-care using FiatLux Visualize on the Philips CliniScape mobile clinical assistant (MCA).

It marks the first use of this innovative diagnostic imaging software on the advanced handheld MCA. Developed by Philips in cooperation with the Intel Digital Health Group, the CliniScape MCA addresses the growing demand for clinical data access at the patient bedside and at the point of decision throughout the hospital.

Running on the Philips CliniScape MCA, FiatLux Visualize provides clinicians with high-quality, advanced image reformations wherever needed, whether in the emergency room (ER), an outpatient clinic or at the patient bedside. It also delivers the flexibility of anywhere, any time 3D imaging workflow.

“I'm very impressed by the simplicity of this software for viewing clinical images in 3D on a simple tablet PC. In our tests, FiatLux Visualize demonstrated complete reliability and displayed high-quality, detailed 3D images quickly and easily,” commented Eric van 't Hoff, Business Development Manager for Philips FIMI. “FiatLux Visualize was developed in response to a demand from physicians for a portable, user-friendly, compact system for immediate 3D and related image visualization.”

“FiatLux Visualize running on the Philips CliniScape MCA exemplifies our unique vision of fully portable and affordable advanced medical visualization to meet a wide spectrum of clinical needs,” said FiatLux Imaging CEO Mary Frances Feider. “Medical specialists utilizing medical images are realizing the benefits of using a solution like this for image analysis, confident diagnoses, and improved patient communication and understanding.”
