GE Healthcare IT and Microsoft have entered into an independent software vendor alliance agreement
GE Healthcare IT, a division of General Electric Company, and Microsoft have entered into an independent software vendor alliance agreement to provide customers with enhanced healthcare IT administration capabilities that support GE's Centricity Enterprise healthcare IT solution, currently in use by hospitals worldwide.
According to GE Healthcare, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 will be the foundation for billing, accounting, human resources, and materials management applications that integrate with the clinical, patient administration, and financial capabilities in Centricity Enterprise.
When combined, every aspect of patient care will be accurately captured in the electronic patient record created by Centricity Enterprise and automatically passed to the Microsoft Dynamics AX solution to generate bills, update supply inventories or inform staffing plans, said GE Healthcare.
Laurent Rotival, vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare IT, said: "Today we are greatly enhancing the capabilities we offer to our customers by working with Microsoft to integrate our current software solutions.
"Customers will benefit from leading edge capabilities and knowledge from GE and Microsoft in a solution that is proven, agile, and efficient. On many levels this is an unprecedented combination of power, functionality, and vision in Healthcare IT."
