GE Healthcare Introduces Centricity University

Company News - GE Healthcare

New partnership with HealthStream extends hospital-based training environment to Centricity users (NASDAQ: HSTM) (NYSE: GE) - GEHealthcare.com.

GE Healthcare , a division of General Electric, has partnered with HealthStream to offer Centricity* University, a new blended learning experience, for its Centricity software users in the United States. The new program is an innovative training solution that includes unlimited access to online and classroom-based courses through one easy subscription service provided through HealthStream. GE Healthcare will make new Centricity University training courses available in January to Centricity PACS customers, with plans to expand to other Centricity products thereafter.

For department heads, Centricity University makes planning training purchases more predictable and offers more choices for hospital staff to get the training they need where and when it’s convenient. HealthStream’s learning management platform, with a proven track record in approximately 50% of all U.S. hospitals, will provide for the delivery and management of online courses, webinars, and other training activities though Centricity University. The three-year agreement with HealthStream is part of an overall initiative to help GE Healthcare’s Centricity users to continuously maintain their skills.

“This removes barriers for our customers that had been keeping them from maximizing their proficiency in radiology workflow driven by Centricity PACS ,” said Jim Corrigan, Vice President and General Manager of GE Healthcare IT. “We’re excited about the possibilities this new agreement can bring to them and our other Centricity software users—and, by extension, to the patients they’re working to care for.”
