Spokesman Brian McKaig told the publication that as part of the reorganization, the company’s diagnostic imaging business in Waukesha, Wis., will merge with its clinical systems division in Wauwatosa. The new unit will operate as GE Healthcare’s healthcare systems division.

Omar Ishrak, who had served as president and CEO of the clinical systems unit, has been selected to lead the healthcare systems division. Meanwhile, Marc Vachon, president and CEO for the diagnostic-imaging unit, will lead GE Healthcare’s Americas division.

This latest news comes after a December announcement of planned job cuts across the company’s divions. GE has not specified the number of workers affected.

McKaig told the paper that the combination of the diagnostic imaging and clinical systems units will not lead to additional job cuts.
