Premier Selects GE as Ultrasound Provider

Company News - GE Healthcare

Avon based Premier Diagnostic Services, Inc. New England’s largest provider of portable and mobile diagnostic ultrasound testing, selected GE Healthcare as their primary ultrasound provider.

GE Healthcare announced that Avon based Premier Diagnostic Services, Inc.,  has selected GE as their primary ultrasound provider. Using GE Healthcare 's advanced ultrasound technologies, Premier aims to significantly improve clinical decision making, enhance workflow and provide greater sonographer comfort. The purchase agreement between GE Healthcare and Premier states that Premier will purchase and install 56 GE ultrasound systems, including 48 LOGIQ P5 and 8 Voluson E8 Women’s Health imaging systems.

An ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging tool using sound waves to produce detailed images of internal organs. Since 1997, Premier has served their community through a network of hospitals and office-based diagnostic ultrasound services. They offer distinguished imaging services in OB/GYN, Echocardiography, Vascular, Urology, and General Ultrasound.

According to Bill McCurdy, president of Premier Diagnostic Services, Inc., the purchase agreement illustrates the organization’s firm commitment to setting the standard in community based ultrasound services.

“With more than 75 sonographers performing more than 9,000 ultrasound procedures per month, it is critical that we support our employees with investments in the latest technology,” McCurdy said. “With GE Healthcare ’s progressive diagnostic ultrasound systems, we are providing our staff with the tools necessary to optimize their performance, enabling them to make more confident decisions and deliver better patient care. In this rapidly changing healthcare environment we are positioning ourselves to take advantage of new information technologies with enhanced DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) and structured reporting included in the new systems. Our agreement with GE represents our ongoing commitment to provide quality care to the communities we serve ” added McCurdy.

The Voluson E8 imaging platform offers advancements in image quality, automation, transducer technology and image analysis to help improve patient care in the areas of women's health, including obstetrics, gynecology, assisted reproductive medicine and maternal fetal medicine.

The LOGIQ P5 is a versatile system that provides advanced image quality in a portable-sized console. Both systems will help meet the needs of Premier physician practices, staff and patients.
