Scripps Health Installs Latest Release of GE Healthcare’s Centricity Enterprise
| Company News - GE Healthcare |
Driving Standardization of Clinical Workflow Across Hospitals on all Five Campuses
GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) and a leading provider of information technology solutions, announced that Scripps Health, a multi-hospital system in San Diego, has gone live with GE Healthcare’s Centricity Enterprise version 6.1, an integrated clinical, financial and administrative solution.
“This implementation represents a significant effort to standardize clinical workflows across facilities on all five of our campuses,” said Patric Thomas, Chief Information Officer, Scripps. “Standardizing helps us to provide continuity of care for our patients and continuity of experience for our clinicians at any of our Scripps hospitals.”
The Centricity Enterprise implementation, on March 21, laid the foundation for further expansion of tools such as medication reconciliation and the utilization of advanced nursing features and computerized physician order entry. Implementing the latest release of Centricity Enterprise gives Scripps access to deploy advanced clinical tools and assists in positioning the organization to be prepared to take advantage of future federal stimulus incentives.
“We are proud to have partnered with Scripps to implement a complete electronic health record that will include more than 10,000 end-users across Scripps’ five campuses,” said Laurent Rotival, Vice President and General Manager, GE Healthcare IT. “The advanced tools within Centricity Enterprise will help to provide clinicians with patient information in a timely manner, increasing efficiency and facilitating improved patient care.”
Centricity Enterprise is an integrated clinical, financial and administrative system that helps caregivers provide enhanced patient care through computerized physician order entry (CPOE), clinical decision support and expert rules, while documenting all aspects of patient care. The system integrates core clinical processes for orders, results, pharmacy and care documentation, in concert with administrative/financial processes for scheduling, registration/admitting, charging and billing.
