There is so much discussion around purchasing and implementing EMR, but for some at least EMR is in place or years out before purchase, so what are the critical issues CIOs are facing today?

Chris, Thanks for reposting my topic. Yes, outside EMR, CIOs face other issues. The common thread for the C-suite is ROI and quality care, and hopefully, the link between the two.

EMR is no different when compared to any other clinical system.

Ongoing management, security and integration into existing infrastructure have been to addressed as it would be with all new clinical systems.
