A study presented at ASTRO today showed that a 3-week shortened, more intensive course of radiation given to the whole breast, along with an extra dose of radiation given to the surgical bed of the tumor shows excellent local control at a median follow up of two years after treatment with no significant sides effects. Should women patients be asking for shorter therapy? This theme has come up several times as ASTRO, I think they should ask for short courses of treatment, but what say you?
