Experiences with Exchange of Digital Mammo Data

Discussion started by Steve Munie , on 11 November 10:41 am

What experiences are out there regarding the exchange of Digital Mammo Images?  How often do you get CDs with Viewers that do not display the View or Laterality? Do you import the images into your PACS or Mammo WorkStation to be used as Priors for comparison? Do you have Display Protocols that properly handle the outside images as priors?

There are a lot of challenges in the exchange of softcopy Mammo images. Even when processes are in place to import the outside images and Disply Protocols are generated to handle the outside images, there are still the cases that come in with images in a proprietary format that require the images to be viewed directly from the CD. How often does that happen?

When Mammo images must be viewed from a CD, what monitors are used? Is it a standard office color monitor with 1.3MP resolution or are they viewed with the 5MP WorkStation monitors? Hopefully this will spark a lively discussion.
